I totally agree here with you, Jatin. The risk of going ahead with a new feature that might get obsolete later is a massive one. However, other platforms have tried up to keep up with the changing times just to keep the revenue flowing.
For this very reasons I focussed first on improving the features they already have on their platform, since the groundwork has already been done hence the costs would be relatively low.
Like any other digital product, they could have introduced the new features for the time being, and regulated the NPS and the usage of those features constantly to keep iterating their product offerings, and when things do go back to normal and in case consumer behaviour changes back to how we saw in a pre-Covid era, BookMyShow with regular interactions with its customers and analysing the growth/fall of trends of key metrics could discountinue the same (in phases).
